Terms of service

Last updated 17 October 2026. Effective from that date.

These terms cover your use of Storyboard with Magic at storyboard.withmagic.ai (the "service"), run by WithMagic ("we", "us"). By uploading a script or paying for an order, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. What the service does

You choose a size (short film or feature film) and pay. Then you upload a typed script of up to 130 pages, and we make a "pack": a pencil-style storyboard of key moments, a shot list, a scene list and short character descriptions. The pack is shown on a private web page, and the link is emailed to you. Most short film packs are ready in about 15 minutes and most feature packs in about an hour. If a pack is not delivered, the refund rule applies.

2. Your script

• You must own the script or have permission to use it this way.
• You keep every right in your script. You give us a limited permission to store, copy and process it only to make and deliver your pack, to handle refunds and support, and as the privacy policy describes.
• Parts of your script are sent to service providers that do this processing for us. They are named in the privacy policy.

3. What you get, and its limits

• The pack is made automatically with AI models and code. It can contain mistakes: a missed line, a wrong shot size, a picture that does not match the scene. Check it before you rely on it on set.
• Characters in the pictures are made up. They are not meant to look like any real person, and you must not ask for real people to be drawn.
• You may use your pack for any lawful purpose, including commercial productions. We do not claim ownership of it. AI-made images may not be protected by copyright in every country, so we cannot promise that others are prevented from copying them.

4. The private link

Your pack lives at a link with a long random code. It is not listed by search engines, but anyone who has the link can open it, so share it only with people you trust. The pack, your script and its pictures are deleted 90 days after payment.

5. Price and payment

The price is shown before you pay: currently $29 (USD) for a script of up to 30 pages ("short") and $49 for 31 to 130 pages ("feature"), paid once. You pay first and upload after. We count the pages when you upload: if you paid for a short and the script has 31 to 130 pages, you can pay the $20 difference or upload a shorter script. A script over 130 pages, or one we cannot read even as pasted text, is refunded in full. There is no subscription. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see your full card number.

6. Refunds

The refund rule is part of these terms.

7. Acceptable use

You must not use the service to:

• upload anything you do not have the right to use, or anything illegal;
• make pictures meant to depict, harass or defame a real person;
• break, overload, probe or get around the limits of the service, or use it to send spam;
• resell the service itself.

We may refuse or cancel an order that breaks these rules. If we cancel a paid order for a reason other than a breach of these rules, you get a full refund.

8. Availability and changes

We may change, pause or stop the service at any time. If that stops a paid order from being delivered, you get a full refund.

9. Disclaimer

Apart from the refund rule, the service and the pack are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or production delays, and our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States. Before starting any formal claim, please email us so we can try to fix the problem. If you live in a country whose consumer law gives you more protection, that protection still applies.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. The terms in force when you paid apply to that order.
